My Cactus Heart: A Must See Movie this January 25

I was at the blogger brunch of the movie #My Cactus Heart last Saturday January 21 at Max’s Restaurant in Scout Tuazon in Quezon City. A few bloggers are invited in this event where we meet up the real-life couple which the main cast of the said movie My Cactus Heart—- Maja Salvador and Matteo Guidecelli. Actually we are expecting for the three main casts to attend the said event. The one who was not able to attend is Xian Lim.

The said event is served as the press conference and blogger meet up for the casts of My Cactus Heart. With the aid of movie director Enrico Santos, Maja and Matteo delivered a nice concept of how the movie can captivate the people in order to watch it. They say that this movie can be suits with something new that blends on the taste of the viewers. Let’s say trendy and people will surely enjoy the new plot. A fresh film that viewers can enjoy the scenes that something bit unpredictable.

With regards on the movie My Cactus Heart, the title is not taken in the song neither in some articles, it was made by Maja in a certain adlib which is not in the script.  “Parang cactus ang puso ko, matinik-tinik.” The metaphor stuck and became the movie’s title. Through this title, Star Cinema is expecting that it can attract the younger and edgier crowd who are looking out for the trendy matter today.

Let’s go with story line, “Skylight also places its bet on a new generation of stars performing unique roles,” adds Enrico, who is also the producer of the movie. “Maja, as Sandy, is the younger, mean girl-heartbreaker; a flip on the common saintly leading ladies. While Matteo, as Carlo, is the romantic dreamer who completes the exchange of archetypes. This time, it is the innocent boy who teaches the expert girl how to love.” The movie follows the story of Sandy (Maja), a cactus-hearted lass, who will unwittingly fall in love with the ever-optimistic Carlo (Matteo). How will Benedict (Xian) figure in this love triangle? My Cactus Heart, Enrico’s first full-length directorial debut, also stars Ricky Davao, Bettinna Carlos, Rosanna Roces, Lemuel Pelayo, among others.

With regards on Maja and Matteo during the blogger brunch event, they show nice and down to earth interaction towards among us. They answer the questions of the bloggers with full of intelligence. They create humor among each other and they show the real color; A nice and humble couple. Well, they are sweet to each other as they show this chemistry in the movie. We enjoy listening to them because they are so lovely and talking with sense. I’m an avid fan of Maja Salvador that’s why my write up in this movie is the only thing that I can show my support to her.
