A new gastro pub has opened in Bonifacio Global City, offering a revolution of sorts with a craft beer movement that’s out to shake things up in the Metro.
The Perfect Pint: Craft Beer + Fine Food, a concept developed by the Tempongko brothers: Alec, Noel Jr. and Raymond, is out to change the perception of beers in Manila. This venture sought out by the three brothers is a little more than an attempt to make every man’s dream come true of owning his own bar. It’s also a call to change the bar experience here in the Philippines.
It’s because The Perfect Pint features two game changing traits.
The Perfect Pint does not serve local commercial beer. Instead, The Perfect Pint only offers craft beer, mostly of which are brewed locally by fellow Filipino-owned independent breweries. Local beers from Katipunan Craft Ales, Craftpoint Brewing Company, Pivo Praha Corporation, G Point and Fat Pauly’s will be available on tap and bottles.
On top of that, The Perfect Pint offers its own limited edition home brews to create excitement for customers and allow them to experience something new and refreshing.
Secondly, The Perfect Pint has sought out the help of highly-acclaimed Chef Gene Gonzalez and his team, to create menu items which paired perfectly with the different types of craft beers. Some of the mouth- watering pairings include Truffle Fries with Czech Weizen, Kapal Muks with Pale Ale, Liver-wrapped bacon with Dark lager, Smoked Angus Tapa with Egg with Pale Ale and Stinky Pizza with Weizen. Even their dessert, freshly-baked caramel smores are paired with dark pilsen.
The ideas are new, exciting and dare we say even a little political.
Could this be the start of a revolution –an explosive growth of craft beers – in our beer beloved Republic?
These guys just would like to take things one step at a time. According to them, to be able to see consumers start appreciating and pairing their craft beer and food already creates a difference. To be able to help young and starting craft brewers to sell their creations makes them feel good as well.
Alec Tempongko states, “The quest for the ‘perfect pint’ represents a continuing journey, a cause, if you will – to provide consumers with “a notch higher” experience, better choices and introduce them to the delectable world of craft beer & food pairing experiences. Corollary to this vision is to provide a venue for our young local craft brewers to showcase their brews.”
Whether the aim is to a refreshing change in the beer landscape in the Philippines, support Filipino brewed craft beer or just plain offer a “notch higher” experience, it seems that The Perfect Pint is on its way to carving its own notch in the local scene. A hand-painted sign on their wooden walls captures it all: “Savor the Flavor”.
The Perfect Pint is located at 2nd Floor CrossRoads Building, 32nd Ave. Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
- The Perfect Pint was founded by the Tempongko brothers: Alec, Noel Jr. and Raymond – 3 out of the 7 children of Noel Sr. and Angela Tempongko. Alec, Noel and Raymond felt a burning desire to venture into entrepreneurship having worked for so long in the corporate world. Their work ethic and leadership propelled them to become successful senior executives in leading companies, such as, a multinational alcoholic beverage company (for Alec), the leading meat processing company in the country (for Noel Jr.) and foreign, commercial and investment banks (for Raymond).
- With over 85 years of combined corporate world experience for the 3 brothers, they are confident they can manage their own business and The Perfect Pint team, fully understanding the risks and opportunities.
- The Perfect Pint was born when they saw the entry of new local craft brewers in the Philippines. They saw an opportunity to support the local brewers and promote their products by offering an on premise outlet where consumers can taste their products paired with fine food.
- With the growth in the Philippine economy, the growth in tourism and the improvement in the taste and lifestyle of the young Filipino executive, The Perfect Pint offers an alternative venue where customers can enjoy local craft beers paired with fine food at affordable prices.
- The gastro pub is open 7 days a week from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. We may also be open for breakfast to cater to the call center market in BGC. We will also show live sports telecasts such as the NBA playoffs and finals for the sports enthusiasts.
