The Flying Swords of Dragon Gate

Jet li as The Flying Swords of Dragon Gate

Synopsis:

As one of the defining stories of the martial arts genre, the saga of the Dragon Gate Inn has already been the source material for two classic martial arts films.

Now legendary writer/director/producer Tsui Hark together with Visual Effects creator of ‘Avatar’ – Chuck Comisky revisits these legends in ‘The Flying Swords of Dragon Gate’ bringing new characters and ancient conflicts to life through the vivid depth of 3D.

The film picks up three years after the disappearance of the enigmatic innkeeper Jade and the massive fire that consumed the Inn. A new Dragon Inn has risen from the ashes, staffed by a band of marauders. Masquerading as law-abiding citizens by day, they use the cover of night to continue their true calling as fortune hunters. Now, Ming Dynasty general Chow Wai-On (Jet Li) clashes with nefarious eunuch Yu Hua-Tian (Chen Kun), but the real action begins when the feuding pair encounter Lin Yan-Qiu (Zhou Xun) at a secluded desert outpost known as the Dragon Gate Inn.

For legend says that the Dragon Inn is the site of a lost city buried in the desert–and a treasure that spans dynasties hidden deep within.

My Review:

This movie of Jet Li is one of the best display of martial arts actions and it gave life on the skills of various weapons of every characters. It shows also the development of stunts and effects. This movie imposed the development of film technology in China. All I can say far away excellent effects if you compare to previous films that made in China.

Thank you SM Cinema for inviting me in the advance screening of this movie. This is another must see movie for those Jet Li fans out there.
